'The Return of the Repressed' is a film exploring ways that women can embody characters through ritual, and attempt to create a safe space between the spiritual and physical realms. An unidentifiable group of women engage in rituals that facilitate a connection to a lost feminine, or the 'Wild Woman' who exists within every woman. The group could be fictional, historic, utopian or real; the film acts as a vehicle to visualise the feminine soul in some way. It consists of a film installed with a half circle of soil to act as a protective barrier between the world that the characters inhabit, and the patriarchal structures existing outside of it.
